The United Kingdom Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly warned against travel to 31 countries, placing them on a “travel ban” list due to various security and safety risks.
With nearly 200 countries and territories worldwide, British tourists are advised to avoid these destinations, where threats range from terrorism and war to extreme weather.
The Foreign Office warns that travelling to these areas against official advice will invalidate any standard travel insurance, leaving tourists unprotected.
In addition to warning against travel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides guidance on entry requirements, health risks and legal differences in these regions.
THE Warnings from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs arise from various risks, including ongoing conflicts, political instability and the risk of terrorist attacks.
Extreme weather conditions, such as wildfires, tornadoes and tsunamis, also contribute to advisories.
For example, traveling across large parts of the Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories are not recommended due to the ongoing conflict.
