Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are planning a great Broadway adventure with Jamie Lloyd-Helmed Waiting for Godot
THE Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure Movie stars will lead the cast of Samuel Beckett's play for the 2025-2026 season.
Let the party begin, guys! Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure movie stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will reunite on Broadway in a new revival of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot. To be led by Jamie Lloyd (Sunset Boulevard, A dollhouse), the revival will begin in fall 2025 at an Ambassador Theatre Group theater to be announced.
Keanu Reeves will play Estragon opposite Vladimir (Winter), with additional casting to be announced at a later date.
The production will mark Keanu Reeves' Broadway debut. Winter previously appeared on Broadway as a child, playing John Darling in the 1979 play directed by Sandy Duncan. Peter Pan.
“It is a true honour to collaborate with the brilliant Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter on Samuel Beckett’s sublime masterpiece, one of the greatest plays of all time,” Lloyd said in a statement.
“We are incredibly excited to be on stage together and working with the great Jamie Lloyd in one of our favorite plays,” Reeves and Winter added.
Created in 1953, Waiting for Godot The play focuses on two men waiting for the Godot of the title, while talking in between. The work has become a theater classic. On Broadway alone, the upcoming revival will be the fifth major performance of the play.
