The WestJet group, which includes WestJet and Sunwing airlines, said in a news release that it will offer “more seats to the sun than any other Canadian airline.” The winter schedule includes 320 non-stop routes to 63 popular destinations in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.
Highlights of the leisure sector's growth include offering the most flights to Arizona and Las Vegas, with seat share of 57% and 44%, respectively, as well as notable capacity increases to Latin Caribbean destinations from Kelowna, Winnipeg, Regina, Victoria, Calgary and Edmonton.
The winter schedule reflects WestJet's expansion of international service to Tokyo and increased daily connectivity between Calgary and popular vacation destinations announced in May.

The airline also announced enhancements to its European winter service, offering daily flights from Calgary to London and Paris. These routes were previously offered during the winter, but the frequency to Paris has been increased to match London and in response to demand for business and leisure travel between Western Canada and Europe.
This expansion will increase the WestJet group's overall capacity by nine per cent compared to 2023.
“Our winter schedule builds on our ambitions to ensure Canadians have a comprehensive network of affordable domestic air service, while providing seamless access for cold-weather getaways to popular sun destinations,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Group Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer.

“By offering more seats and affordable fares across our network, we are giving Canadians more choice and flexibility this winter.”
Calgary-based airline will also increase its domestic capacity, with increased service to Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Kelowna, Vancouver and Calgary. The airline offers more unique routes between eastern and western Canada than any other airline.
This winter, WestJet travellers will also enjoy access to codeshare partner Delta Air Lines hubs, including Atlanta and Minneapolis. This will provide easier access to more than 100 U.S. destinations through the U.S. carrier's network. Flights are available from Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Vancouver.
