BREWSTER, MA — Let's be honest, if money is no object, there's no shortage of beautiful and scenic places to stay on Cape Cod.
However, there is one that stands out above the rest, at least according to Travel + Leisure readers surveyed this year.
The publication recently released the results of its “World’s Best Awards” for 2024, with praise for Brewster’s Candleberry Inn.
Candleberry was not only named the 30th best hotel in the world, but also the best inn in the continental United States.
The Norumbega Inn (#4) in Camden, Maine, joins the top five, meaning New England has two of the best inns in America. Villa Mara in Carmel-by-the-Sea comes in second, while the Walloon Hotel in Walloon Lake, Michigan, and the Willcox in Aiken, South Carolina, round out the top five.
“We are honored and humbled to be ranked No. 1 on the Travel + Leisure “The list of 15 readers’ favorite hostels in the continental United States for 2024, thanks to your votes,” Candleberry officials said on social media.
“And not only did you vote us No. 1 in the United States, but we’re ranked No. 30 on the World’s Best list among a truly incredible group of properties from 38 different countries.”
More than 186,000 readers participated in the 2024 survey, rating each hostel on criteria including rooms and facilities, location, service, food and value for money.
