If your solo travels take you to the southern United States, Zach suggested San Antonio as a destination. She said it’s a family-friendly city, known as one of the safest and most enjoyable vacation destinations in the United States, and it’s also one of the least expensive places to visit, especially compared to other Texas cities, like Dallas.
“San Antonio is more than just a picture of colorful umbrellas on the river,” Zach said. “In fact, it’s the second largest city in Texas, full of history, Mexican culture, incredible food and outdoor recreation, and there’s plenty to do in San Antonio when traveling alone.”
“Visit the famous Alamo Catholic Mission, stroll along the famous River Walk, wander through the Pearl District, go on a safari at the Natural Wildlife Ranch, explore the Natural Bridge Caverns, or have a picnic at Brackenridge Park to make the most of this wonderful city, alone or in a group, as there are many tours available in the area. And if you need a little break from big city life, I suggest taking a short day trip to Krause Springs, about an hour and a half drive from San Antonio.”
On average, Zach said you should plan to spend about $130 per day on your San Antonio vacation, with lodging around $65 to $70 per night.
