Celebrated for his prowess in the NFL, Tom Brady knows how to conquer much more than the field. When he's not adding to his seven Super Bowl rings, Brady indulges his passion for travel and exploration. His love of hitting the road and seeing new places is as legendary as his football career. From memorable road trips to exciting travel plans, Brady's experiences offer a fascinating insight into his life off the field.
I discovered his love of travel thanks to his partnership with Hertz, which debuted in October 2021. The fun and engaging “Let's Go Show,” with Brady playing a game show contestant and sideline reporter hosted by actress and comedian Yvonne Orji, showcases the wide selection of vehicles and service fast Hertz. This year's campaign focuses on the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards loyalty program, which makes car rentals easier with benefits like going through the counter, choosing your car and earning points toward future rentals.
When it comes to choosing his vehicle, Brady favors electric vehicles (EVs). “I drive one at home a lot,” he said, citing Tesla and Polestar as his favorites. But what are the must-haves for Tom Brady's road trip? The answer is refreshingly simple: water, snacks and good music.
“I have a lot of good Spotify playlists,” he shared. “It depends on the mood, but I run the gamut.” And yes, he admits to singing while driving. “Of course it is! Don't we all?” His favorite car karaoke musician is currently Morgan Wallen.
But one of Brady's most memorable drives was a 10-hour trip from Michigan to New England after being drafted by the Patriots. “It was about 10 hours,” he recalls. Navigating with physical maps instead of today's digital aids, he admitted, “I'm sure I got lost,” laughing at the memory of asking strangers for directions.
When it comes to dream travel companions, Brady's top picks are his best friends Alex, Ben, and Kevin. “If I want to laugh and cry, it’s these three.” As for destinations, he is attracted by the beauty of the Nordic countries and by exploring certain regions of Europe. “Every time I see Switzerland on Instagram, I wonder why I’m not there?” He also plans to take road trips across the United States, with Alaska and New Mexico topping his list of places to explore.
Traveling is more than just a hobby for Brady; it’s a way to connect with family and appreciate the diverse cultures of the world. “My travels have taught me that humans are very similar. We all want our families to be well and we all enjoy being with our families.” He highlighted the kindness and commitment he has felt from people around the world, emphasizing the importance of understanding different cultures.
Brady's advice for traveling with kids is simple: keep them happy. “Give them what they want,” he suggested. When it comes to packing, he humorously admitted that he's “the worst packer in the world,” lugging around a plethora of workout gear, supplements, and chargers. “My two-day bag makes it look like I’m going for a month,” he jokes.
What's next on the travel agenda? This summer, Brady's itinerary is full of exciting trips, including trips to Paris for the Olympics and visits to Montana and California.
