Now that we are “unofficially” in summer, people are going to go on summer vacation. For many, they will stay here in Montana, however, others will look to venture out of state for some relaxation.
Growing up, summer vacation meant going wherever there were relatives. My parents were cheap and didn't want to spend money on a hotel or any other fun place.
Vacations can get expensive, so for those looking to have a good time and save a dollar or two, we've put together a list of the best places to vacation outside of Montana for those on a budget, thanks to our friends from Expedia.
We will use the same statistics for each destination. Plane ticket for 4 people and one week stay in a moderately priced hotel. {the price will decrease or increase depending on the number of people you include.}
Which destinations offer the best value for money?
The first to stand, Las Vegas. According to Expedia, you can spend a week in Las Vegas, including airfare and hotel stay, for the total price of 386 per person. Las Vegas has something for everyone, including plenty of activities for families. Of course, if you're looking for a “kid-free” vacation, Vegas has other activities you'll likely enjoy.
Following, Los Angeles. California has beaches, national parks and Disney Land. Whether it's a tour of Beverly Hills or a stroll on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Los Angeles and its surrounding areas could be an ideal vacation spot. A week-long trip to the Golden State will cost around 450 per person for airfare and hotel.
Nashville is also a popular destination. Known for its southern hospitality and for being the birthplace of country music, Nashville has a vibrant social scene and excellent cuisine. There are tons of things to do and see and a week's stay in Nashville with airfare and hotel will cost around 550 per person.
They say everything is bigger in Texas and a trip to Dallas is always an adventure. Dallas to Cowboys, culture and charm of Texas. From the State Fair of Texas to museums and more, a trip to the Lone Star State will cost you around $550 per person for airfare and a week's hotel stay.
Finally, Orlando. We've mentioned Disney Land, but what about Disney World? Considered one of the most perfect places for a family vacation. Orlando puts you right in the heart of the Sunshine State, and plane tickets and a week's hotel stay will cost you just under $500 per person.
There are several other places worth visiting, Seattle is not far away and if you have never been to Banff in Alberta it is certainly worth a look. Where is your favorite place to vacation? Let us know by sending us a message on our station app.
