TSA Travel Tips
In order for TSA checkpoints to function properly, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport reminds everyone to have a government-issued ID on hand.
- Examine luggage to ensure there are no prohibited items before arriving at the airport.
- All three CLE checkpoints have Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT) machines for passenger screening. Be prepared for metal detectors and x-ray machines for carry-on luggage.
- Remember the TSA 3-1-1 rule for carry-on baggage: three ounces (3 oz) per container, in a clear one-liter bag, one per passenger.
- Knives, sharp-edged scissors, pepper spray and other similar items are prohibited as carry-on baggage. For a complete list of prohibited and permitted items, visit the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) website at www.tsa.gov.
- Carry-on baggage is limited to one bag and one personal item per person. A personal item includes a purse, briefcase or laptop bag.
-
Outer coats, jackets and other similar clothing should be removed and subjected to x-ray examination.
-
Children under 12 do not need identification and will not have to remove their shoes before going through security.
