Who doesn't love living in luxury, even if it's just for vacation? Apparently, we're all doing it because searches for “luxury travel” destinations are skyrocketing, and Annuitya luxury car rental company, knows exactly where the jet set should go next.
In May, the company shared the results of its new study showcasing the most in-demand places for luxury vacations with Travel + Leisure by email. The company was able to determine which destinations ranked highest by using Google Keyword Planner to determine the average monthly search volume over the past 12 months for terms related to luxury destinations, including “(destination) vacation”, ” (destination) trip”, “Itinerary (destination)” and “Visit (destination)”. It then took the total number of average monthly searches for each term to determine the ranking. And after analyzing all this data, it took. named Costa Rica as the most requested country.
“Costa Rica ranks first, with an average monthly search volume of 34,248,” the results reveal. According to the data, the highest average search volume comes from California, with 4,712.50 searches, followed by Florida with 2,984.17 and Texas with 2,660.83.
However, Costa Rica's ranking doesn't really surprise us. After all, T+L loves the Central American nation so much that we named it the Destination of the year 2024thanks to its beautiful beaches, lush rainforests and pura vida lifestyle that can't be matched anywhere else.
Costa Rica was closely followed by Hawaii in second place, with an average monthly search volume of 32,278, and was the most searched for luxury vacation spot in 20 states, with the highest number of searches coming from Washington. It is followed by Bali in third place, with 27,331 average monthly searches in the United States, most of them coming from Texas.
“The first ranking highlights a variety of stunning vacation spots from all corners of the world,” Yevhen Parokhod, co-founder of Renty, said in a statement. However, it's clear that the United States craves sun, beaches and bustling cities more than white powder slopes and other winter experiences, given that many tropical destinations like Bali and Hawaii make the rankings.
These destinations were joined by the Maldives in fourth place, followed by Thailand, New York, Paris, Dubai, Los Angeles and Fiji which round out the top 10. But once again, Costa Rica is still #1, and you should start with plan your next Costa Rica vacation – luxury or otherwise – here.
