For a true taste of authentic, tenderly cooked jerk chicken, Scotchie's in Montego Bay promises just that. Designed for dining with family and friends, a taste of their freshly cured chicken, pork, sides and local juices will not disappoint.
Known for its breathtaking views, you'll come for the food but must stay for sunset. Don't miss the oysters au gratin, grilled rib-eye and, for dessert, Rick's classic cheese. To make the most of this scenic wonder, it's best to arrive between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., as you'll want to spend some time at the water's edge before the sun sets, and if you're bold enough to brave it , jump from the 35-foot-high cliff.
What to do on a day trip
Probably one of the top tourist spots that Jamaica has to offer is Dunn's River Falls and Park. Home to the highest waterfall on the island, rising to 600 feet, it flows directly into the Caribbean Sea. Make a day of it and spend some time swimming and relaxing in the water. For thrill-seekers, this waterfall is climbable – just be sure to wear water shoes and clothes you won't mind getting wet. Although the journey to the top may seem daunting, you will soon discover that it is very safe and well worth the effort.
Ranked Montego Bay's number one beach, this swimming club is the closest place to paradise in this corner of the island. Enjoy the many beachside restaurants, or the service directly on your deckchair, you will leave your worries at the entrance to this world-famous seaside club.

You will be accompanied by a well-trained guide and learn about the life of the cultural icon and the legacy he left behind.
Can you really say you've been to Jamaica if you haven't tried the famous (and incredibly Instagrammable) riverboat rafting? There are a few places to go, but Martha Brae is at the top of our list. Hop aboard a handmade bamboo raft and soak up the serenity as your guide leads you down the river and teaches you about the surroundings. Sit back, relax and let the flow of the river put you at ease within minutes, while listening to and observing a variety of exotic birds. If you're feeling adventurous, try your hand at piloting (an unexpected amount of elbow grease is required) or even dive into the water.
Ride a horse
Calling all horse lovers! Regardless of your level of horse experience, this is an inclusive activity for everyone. There are several locations across the island for ocean horseback riding, but we suggest doing it near the fishing village of Salmon Point, just before sunset. Since you will be in the water, wear clothing that you won't mind getting wet as well as water shoes to ensure a secure and comfortable grip.
