Online luxury travel specialist Secret Escapes Group has appointed Tomáš Braverman as managing director of its subsidiary Slevomat Group.
He will succeed current CEO Ladislav Veselý, who left his role at the leisure e-commerce platform this month, effective July 15 this year.
Slevomat mainly offers trips and local experiences in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and has millions of customers. In 2023, its travel sales grew by 23% and the company enjoyed an EBITDA margin above 20%.
Braverman has just joined the Heureka group, the largest European group of price comparison sites and online advisors, of which he was general manager for seven years.
During Braverman's time at Heureka, the company grew to 26 million unique cookie users and 40 to 550 employees while growing revenue tenfold.
Braverman also oversaw four acquisitions and integrations. In 2023, he became a non-executive member of the Heureka group advisory board.
Before joining Heureka Group in 2017, he was Managing Director of Heureka Shopping, at the time the largest price comparison site in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Alex Saint, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Secret Escapes, said: “We are delighted to welcome Tomáš to the Secret Escapes family. After carrying out an in-depth search, we are pleased to have found a leader who stood out for his extraordinary experience.
“We look forward to working with Tomáš whose background and industrial expertise will help us further strengthen Slevomat’s leading position in the Central and Eastern European market.
“I would also like to thank Ladislav Veselý for his leadership and support over the past years. We wish him all the best for his future endeavors.
Braverman adds: “I am very excited to join the Slevomat and Secret Escapes team and work alongside its talented members.
“It is a pleasure to be part of a company with an excellent strategic position in terms of customer offering, as well as being part of a wider group. I’m really looking forward to building on the company’s strong foundations to further grow the business.” »
