The TSA says that if you bring a firearm through a TSA checkpoint, you will no longer be allowed to use pre-check and may have to pay a fine of up to $15,000.
NEW ORLEANS – The Transportation Security Administration gave us some tips Thursday on how to travel safely with a gun.
TSA agents at Armstrong International Airport say they have seized 15 weapons at the security checkpoint this year.
If you want to travel with a firearm, TSA agents say it must be unloaded and kept in a locked hard case in your checked bag.
Do not put it in your carry-on baggage. You must also declare this to the airline during check-in.
Also be sure to check what the gun laws are in the state you are traveling to. Some won't let you bring it at all.
