CHARLOTTE, NC (QC Life) – Spring break is coming, but you don’t have any travel plans yet. If this is you, keep reading.
Tony Jackson, aka “The Real Money Coach,” joined the show today to share some tips on how we can save money while still enjoying our spring break.
Jackson recommended keeping an eye out for last-minute deals on travel sites like Expedia and considering destinations that other people typically wouldn't go to. If you're lucky, you might still find a hotel that isn't full, he said.
According to Jackson, you can also save money by exploring local and nearby cities or regions, since you won't have to pay for plane or train tickets. And usually, where you go is much less important than who you travel with and what you do, Jackson said.
Additionally, there are many vacation rentals such as Airbnb that offer budget-friendly accommodation and dining options, giving you your own space to cook and store food.
Finally, Jackson said there are many free and low-cost activities, such as bike rides, free admission to museums and parks, and other outdoor activities.
“Just do your research on creative things you can do as a family that are fun and save money,” Jackson said.
