I love traveling, but I also love coming home to my usual routine and all the comforts I'm used to. But every now and then I visit a place that makes me think I could stay there forever. So I asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell me about a place where they traveled and that got them thinking: I could definitely live here. These are the destinations that left their mark…

“Budapest. I would love to have an apartment there. It's a very beautiful city and, what's more, everything is very cheap because they have their own currency.”

“New York City. I went back to college for a few years and always loved it. I think it's definitely a love it or hate it place, especially when it comes to particular neighborhoods. There can be a lot of stimulation, but I find that all the sounds and sights can fade into the background and become almost calming. I didn't mind walking everywhere because there was always something new to look at. There are many more beautiful neighborhood parks and more nature than you think. And oh my God, don't get me started on libraries…”

“Berlin. It's artsy with the perfect dose of hostility. As an introvert, it was a refreshing change from the overly cheerful and curious Americans. There's history everywhere! You could visit a museum per day and don't stop for a year!

“Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I know it's a bit of a tourist trap, but it works. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I'd live anywhere if I could. I love the Smokey Mountains.”

“London. I love history, culture and food. There is so much to see and do that I don't think I can get bored. Plus, the public transportation system is wonderful! »

“Busan, South Korea. I have lived in Mumbai my whole life and have traveled around the world for work. I love traveling, but visiting different places makes me enjoy the feeling of coming home. But When I visited Busan, I felt a feeling that I can't really explain. oh, so this is what the house looks like. There was just something about this town. I would love to move there.”

“New Hampshire. I went to visit a friend and felt like I had stumbled upon a Thanksgiving movie on the Hallmark Channel. Between the fall leaves, the beautiful mountains and the quaint bed and breakfasts , it was adorable. The whole town looked like a movie set, and everyone was so nice.”

“Honfleur, France. It's a quaint, quaint seaside village in the northern region of Normandy. There are epic views and delicious food (think: fresh seafood, delicious butter, and creamy cheeses) .I love this idyllic place!”

“Nairobi, Kenya. It's a chaotic city in many ways, but the people make it unique. There is a sense of community in Nairobi that doesn't seem to exist anywhere else I've traveled. It's also a incredibly cosmopolitan city with “Many different cultures, religions and languages mixing peacefully. When you want a break from city life, you are just a short drive from some of the most beautiful places on earth like Mount Kenya or the Masai Mara National Park. “

“Karlstad, Sweden. Karlstad is a city big enough to have everything you need (shops, restaurants, etc…), but it's small enough that you don't feel that overwhelming hustle and bustle. It's located on the edge of the largest lake in the country, and a river runs through the town, offering countless cycling and walking paths. It has large green spaces and outdoor recreation. Plus, it was easy to navigate as only English-speaking (almost everyone I've met speaks Swedish and English). It's located halfway between Stockholm and Oslo, so it's only about a three-hour drive or train ride from the major cities and international airports.

“Estonia! The city is beautiful, the people are polite and the language is so cool. Tallinn is a must-visit, but the city of Pärnu stole my heart.”

“Zermatt, Switzerland. It's a beautiful little town in the Swiss Alps, near the Matterhorn. No gasoline or diesel vehicles are allowed there, so it's also very quiet. The air is so clear that it is almost unbelievable. I remember sitting on our hotel room balcony early in the morning, looking out at the river and the scenery. I have no way to express how peaceful it was there- low. Of all the places I've been, this is the one that feels most like heaven.

“Costa Rica. I left with a tattoo that says pure life, and I cried at the airport on the way home. The locals are very friendly and the landscape is beautiful, with mountains, volcanoes, beaches and jungles. I still live in the United States, but this country holds a special place in my heart.”

“Prague. I am eligible for Czech citizenship by origin, so I came to see if I wanted to live there. I discovered that Prague is an amazing city: the food is excellent and cheap, the public transport is excellent, the city is easy to get around, it's very walkable, the architecture is beautiful and the locals are very friendly and welcoming. I have every intention of moving there permanently as soon as I can settle the details.

“Bath, UK. I stayed there for a little over a month on a study abroad program, and if living there hadn't been so expensive, I would have probably already moved. The city is old, charming and beautiful. I have mobility issues, but everything I needed was within walking distance (including a large train station). Everyone I have We met were super friendly and there is always something new to learn about the city. The food was also absolutely amazing. Some tea rooms have been around for hundreds of years, cheap cafes and even vegan restaurants. J Would go back without hesitation.

“Madrid. I visited it in my early 20s and felt like I had found my home. I was living in France and working at a local university that taught English at the time, I So I was already immersed in a European way of life. But there was something about Madrid that drew me in. I told my traveling companions that they could just leave me in Retiro Park and I would live there forever. I often regret not learning Spanish and moving to Spain when I finished my year in France.

“New Mexico. You have beautiful mountains, natural hot springs, hiking and horse trails, lots of history, and the best food in the world. If you live in the United States, you don't need passport, but it's completely different.”

“Rome. I visited Rome with my school choir during my senior year of high school and I vividly remember walking the streets of the city at night, completely in love. We went to other great cities in Italy, but nothing appealed to me as much as Rome. It's such a beautiful place. There's something so romantic and sweet. I could have stayed there forever.”
