PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — As spring break approaches, Palm Springs International Airport is preparing to welcome a surge in passengers. To ensure smoother travel, PSP officials have published a list of tips:
1. Early arrival: All passengers must arrive at PSP at least 2 hours before their flight departure time, whether they are checking their bags, carrying their carry-on baggage or using expedited services like CLEAR or TSA PreCheck. This allows enough time to check bags, go through security and arrive comfortably at the gate.
2. Peak Periods: The busiest hours at PSP are expected to be 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Plan for potential security wait times of more than 30 minutes during this peak period.
3. Parking Options: High demand for parking is expected. Main car parks are available for $20 per day, while overflow parking on Kirk Douglas Way is priced at $18 per day for travelers using a credit card. Overflow parking will be open if necessary and a short, free shuttle service to and from the terminal will be available. Signs along airport roads will guide travelers to the overflow lot. View a parking map here.
4. Consider alternative transportation: Ride-sharing services, taxis, or public transportation offer convenient ways to reach the airport. It can also save time and reduce parking demand.
5. Real-time updates: Stay informed about parking, security wait times, flight status and more by visiting flyPSP.com before your trip.
6. Dining and Shopping: Ongoing construction continues to impact some dining and retail options at PSP during the complete refresh of our concessions. See what's open here. Passengers are encouraged to plan their dining options in advance, with grab-and-go choices
readily available for added convenience.
7. TSA Compliance: Familiarize yourself with TSA guidelines, including the 3-1-1 rule for liquids, gels and hand sprays.
