New fake plants have been installed on the Tiana's Bayou Adventure side of Magic Kingdom. The attraction is set at open this summer.
Building Tiana's Bayou Adventure
Disney added a Photo session of Louis on the construction site walls in Frontierland after announcing the opening schedule. Beyond the construction walls, the old facade of Splash Mountain has been transformed into Louisiana swamp.
Vines wrap the legs of the Tiana's Foods water tower. It was installed in June 2023. According to the ride's history, Tiana founded the cooperative shortly after the events of “The Princess and the Frog.”
There are still some scaffolding around the mill, which guests climb up to at the start of the walk. A weather vane designed by a Louisiana blacksmith is at the top of the mill. The facade of the building was repainted and the roof covered with moss.
We saw several crew members on the side of Salt Dome Mountain. They still seem to be sculpting the rock.
This is also where most of the scaffolding is located on the mountain. We could also hear construction behind the mountain.
During our trip on Tuesday, we didn't see any activity around the ride's famous drop. But last weekend we saw newspapers at the peak of the decline.
Disney has been testing the ride vehicles and periodically filling parts of the flume with water. Vehicles are recycled from Splash Mountain but have been renovated.
Windows and doors at Briar Patch, the Splash Mountain gift shop, remain closed and boarded up.
During work on the Tiana's Bayou Adventure queue, crews also constructed new stairwells for the Frontierland station. Construction walls and rolling planters are blocking work around the station, which is still operational.
Customers can walk behind the station, through part of the new flagstone queue. Small construction boxes cover certain elements behind wrought iron guardrails. The only thing guests have access to here is a toilet.
From the queue we can see construction work on the mountainside. A new fence was installed next to the attraction channel earlier during construction.
It was here that new factories were installed. Green vines run along the cliff. They appear to have red or orange flowers, or perhaps peppers.
The peppers are featured on Tiana's Foods signage in honor of the Co-op hot sauce range. As a potential tie-in to Tiana's Bayou Adventures, the peppers returned to the Native American village on Rivers of America last year.
Next to the canal after the drop, a temporary fence now blocks the Cast Member's stairwell.
We saw some logs in one of the tunnels under the bridge. There was very little water in the canal, probably just because of the rain.
We saw one crew member in this area but no significant work.
