Here's part of what he said. (Listen now or wherever you get your podcasts. New episodes every Tuesday.)
Is there a particular reason why you don't eat meat?
My wife initially gave up, more for ethical reasons.
And then I watched a Netflix documentary called Game changers, which was super interesting. This basically shows how athletes perform better when they don't eat meat. I tried it, even though I like to eat meat, and found that my performance improved. I run faster and generally feel lighter and better.
What does your morning routine look like?
I try to get up around 5 a.m. and the first hour is probably spent connecting abroad. We have a team in the UK and USA. Then I'll tend to do about an hour of exercise, which could be running, Peloton, or golf.
When you run, do you run barefoot all the time?
Yeah. I started running barefoot probably about 12 years ago. Since then, I have had almost no injuries.
Have you suffered any injuries?
I was, but I read the book Born to run and my wife too. She started running barefoot, then I started running barefoot and found that the injuries I had just disappeared.
