Soon, Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris will officially become Disney Adventure World as part of a multi-year transformation. Updates include an Adventure Bay expansion, World of Frozen and “Lion King” – the latter of which Imagineers showed the animator responsible for Scar.
Scar animator visits Imagineering
Disney legend Andreas Deja recently visited the Imagination of Walt Disney Glendale campus where he saw various upcoming projects, including the new “The Lion King” attraction coming to Disney Adventure World. Deja was the supervising animator for Scar in “The Lion King,” as well as Gaston in “Beauty and the Beast” and Jafar in “Aladdin.”
Imagining shared photos of Deja watching the Pride Lands on the Disney Adventure World Model. THE new thematic space inspired by the classic animated film will feature a log ride similar to Splash Mountain and Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

DLP works shared some aerial photos on social media of the progress of construction work on the park. The photos were taken on November 12, 2024.
The Adventure Bay expansion includes various offerings around a large lake. Crews are paving the trails around the lake and have started installing street lights. A pavilion features green roofs. Rectangles on the ground outline the future kiosks.
A crane towers over World of Frozen, on the other side of the lake from the pre-existing park. The crane was used to install the the highest peak of the Northern Mountains. A performance building extends behind the mountain. Thematization begins to take hold in the territory.
The technical basin serving the lake is completed. The lake is full of water, but the shallower marina in World of Frozen is not. Elements of Arendelle Castle are visible near the lakefront and empty marina.
The space allocated to the Pride Lands has not yet been developed. It will open sometime after World of Frozen, which is scheduled to open in 2026.
Adventure Bay will also be home to a table service restaurant featuring Disney princesses called The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge and a new “Tangled” ride, Rapunzel Tangled Spin.
