Glendale's amusement park is set to feature a Hot Wheels-themed roller coaster and Barbie Beach House.
GLENDALE, Ariz. — A new amusement park inspired by Mattel toy brands isn't expected to open in the West Valley until next year.
Mattel Adventure Park was previously scheduled to open this year at the VAI Resort near State Farm Stadium in Glendale. But the opening date has now been pushed back to next year.
“VAI Resort has significantly expanded its initial vision for the Glendale property. These extensive expansions impact hotel, restaurant and other entertainment offerings and remain under construction,” a spokesperson for the developers wrote in a statement. press release. “Mattel Adventure Park is an anchor tenant at the resort. To ensure the best experience for our guests, Mattel Adventure Park will open its doors in 2025 as part of the first phase of opening of the VAI Resort.
The amusement park is expected to include attractions like a Hot Wheels-themed roller coaster, Barbie Beach House and a Thomas the Tank Engine attraction.
