We love the feeling of sand under our feet. The feeling of sand on the face, arms, stomach or back, not so much.
“Here I am with my beautiful body slathered in sunscreen, all sticky and adhesive and you throw in the sand and I'm like a sugar donut basically,” Greaves-Gabbadon said. “It's stuck to me, and the only cure is I have to go in the water, I have to dry off, and then I have to put sunscreen on again.”
National Etiquette Expert Diane Gottman said adults and children should not kick sand at beachgoers while they are walking, and that beachgoers should be careful about any actions that might spread sand.
“When you shake a blanket, there’s sand everywhere,” she said. “You have a portable fan and the sand blows on someone else's face. We just have to be aware of who is around us.
