A popular Colorado mountain town has been voted a top destination for Thanksgiving travelers.
Estes Park was voted the fourth best place to take a family road trip over the Thanksgiving holiday, according to an investigation of the Gunther Motor Company. The company surveyed 3,000 people online based on age, gender and location to compile the “Turkey Trails” list.
Here are the top 10 family road trip destinations, according to the survey:
- Hana, Maui, Hawaii
- Ducktown, Tennessee
- Helen, Georgia
- Estes Park, Colorado
- Summerhaven, Arizona
- Nacogdoches, Texas
- Medina, Texas
- Stockbridge, Massachusetts
- Marion, Virginia
- Bluefield, West Virginia

Estes Park offers a variety of restaurants for families to host their Thanksgiving feasts and the opportunity to take visitors' “Turkey Trot” hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. Visitors can then jump straight into the holiday season with the Annual Catch the Glow Parade and Tree Lighting in downtown Estes Park Friday.
Three more Colorado cities were voted among the top 125 family road trips for the Thanksgiving holiday, according to the survey. Silverton was voted 20th, Ouray 48th and Fruita 75th.
