You can join In the USA host April Baer Embark on a nine-day adventure in Hawaii. You'll visit Oahu, the Big Island, and Maui, and explore the beauty, history, and culture of the islands. Relax in paradise, admire spectacular waterfalls, and enjoy lush tropical vegetation with your travel companions.
Your expedition will take you to Honolulu, the state capital, which at first glance looks like any other major American city. However, the palm trees, scarlet hibiscus, and colorful clothing of the citizens make it clear that you are in Hawaii. On the Big Island, drive up through the rugged countryside to Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you will see a real smoking volcano. Travel to the historic fishing village of Kailua Kona, known locally as Kona Town, and sample the local cuisine. Each winter, more than 8,000 humpback whales migrate to Hawaii’s warm Pacific waters to mate, give birth, and nurse their calves. On a Maui whale watching cruise, you will take to the waters with an experienced captain and crew to find whales and observe them up close.
Throughout the trip, you'll also have the opportunity to visit Pearl Harbor, soak up the sun on the beach, relax by the pool, explore volcanic craters, and enjoy a Hawaiian Luau, a fun cultural event featuring traditional food, dancing, and music.
